HOOPS 4 Life is proud to partner with The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award, the world’s leading achievement award for young people.
If you participate in the HOOPS 4 Life program for games and training you have already achieved two of the requirements!
The Duke of Ed Award is aligned with our priority to offer practical experiences and life skills to equip young people for life and create committed global citizens. The Award is open to anyone between the ages of 14 to 25.
There are three levels available, each one progressively more challenging. At HOOPS 4 Life we offer all three: Bronze, Silver and Gold.
As a registered provider for the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award, we can assist players to meet all four of the requirements by playing basketball with us:

The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award is a voluntary program that’s been enriching the lives of young people since 1956.
Participants design their own unique program that challenges them to set and meet goals while forging qualities of strength, resolve and commitment.
The program is run in over 140 countries.
The Award is a challenging journey of self-discovery. Participants:
- Are equipped and empowered to achieve their personal best
- Learn to take responsibility for their goals and choices
- Become connected to and actively engaged within their immediate community
- Make a real difference to society through their positive contributions and involvement
- Learn to persevere and overcome barriers to success
- Learn important life skills
- Increase their career opportunities
