About our Programs & Services

Each year we provide thousands of girls and boys with our basketball programs and skills-for-life strategies.

Further basketball opportunities

We utilise our network of basketball associations and competitions by providing opportunities for our players to compete against other teams, apply for sports scholarships, and apply for positions in the International Hoops Academy to prepare for potential scholarships at universities and colleges in the USA.

Education pathways

We believe that education, community and sport go hand-in-hand.

We link young people to traditional and non-traditional education pathways, including secondary schools, TAFE and technical colleges, school-based traineeships and apprenticeships, to help them drive their own success and build their future.

Hoops4life About Programs 2

For marginalised and disadvantaged players

Our work with highly marginalised and disadvantaged youth helps re-engage young people who’ve been involved in disruptive choices that threaten their prospects of achieving an education and positively contributing to their community.

We help them break negative behaviour patterns, reduce offending, build resilience, and reconnect them to educational pathways.

We are currently delivering HOOPS 4 Life at the Youth Education Centre at the Adelaide Youth Training Centre, and at the Adelaide Women’s Prison.

We also support young offenders after they’ve served their sentence and are released from custody, by keeping them engaged in our HOOPS 4 Life public program.

Some young offenders are given the opportunity to continue playing in HOOPS 4 Life as one of the terms of a suspended sentence.
